In-Person Lesons

In-person lessons are the best way to advance your violin playing. By creating a highly-personalized approach tailored to your learning needs, we can work toward big-picture goals while also focusing on small, but important physical details that will take your performance to the next level.

To get started, I offer an introductory lesson where I can get to know you and understand your needs. From there I can develop a learning plan to put you on a path to success.

In-Person lessons are available to students in the Portland, Oregon metro area.

What my students are saying

"Before I met Pauline, my self-confidence was very low – I loved the violin but hated my playing, was too harsh on myself and had a teacher who was not right for me. I still remember my first consultation lesson with Pauline... she was very positive and we ended up working together for almost two years. What a journey! She helped me build my confidence, sense of musicality and my passion for playing. We worked on everything a 20 year-old student needed to work on, phrasing, intonation, bow technique, choosing clever fingerings while still serving the music, posture and stage presence. The only reason I stopped taking lessons with her is because I was accepted for a bachelor degree in performance at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK. Today, many years after my lessons with Pauline, what she taught me still resonates in me, and the repertoire we worked on is the one I still feel most confident and happy to play. I will never take for granted what I achieved without the help of teachers, and Pauline was one of the most important to me."
- Lisa

“Pauline helped me prepare for a solo concert where I had to play the Poem of CHAUSSON and Rondo Capriccioso of SAINT SAENS. She adapted to my needs and helped me gain confidence in my playing."
- Julien
